Experience music through touch and sight in The Music Box. Braille transforms into melody, carrying a timeless message of unity, equality, and our shared human story.
Music box pins are used to create Braille characters, transforming lyrics and poetry into new and strange melodies. Nachum’s Crown Kid’s are immortalized as robots turning the mechanism to activate the music box. An audiovisual representation of the intricate connection between sound and perception, here the boundaries between languages become non-existent.
Nachum’s work is rooted in human connection, communication, equality and diversity.
Nachum uses Braille as a tool to create new channels of communication. In Nachum’s installation the Braille on the wheel of the mechanism expresses the following text to create a new melody:
“All human beings were born free and equal in dignity and rights. We are all one and the same, The same animal from the same great mother living this life as one. Without distinction of any kind.”
