Yes. All guests, including children, require a ticket unless otherwise stated for a specific promotion or event. Child tickets are available for purchase online or at the box office for a discounted price.
Our tickets have a fifteen-minute entry window. For example, if you purchase tickets for 6:00 PM, you may enter between 6:00–6:15 PM. If you arrive outside of this entry window, you will be accommodated in the next available timeslot.
To secure immediate entry at a new date or time, you can reschedule your tickets via your confirmation email. Click “Show Ticket” on any of your tickets, then click “Rebook” to begin. A $3.00 fee per ticket applies when rescheduling.

While it is recommended to purchase tickets in advance to secure your visit, tickets are also available on a first-come, first-served basis at the box office.

Mercer Labs is easily accessible by public transportation.
Subway:
The nearest stations are Fulton Street (A, C, 2, 3, 4, 5, J, and Z trains ), World Trade Center (1 and E trains) and Cortland St (R and W trains). From these stations, Mercer Labs is just a short 2 minute walk.
Bus:
Several MTA bus routes stop within a few blocks of Mercer Labs, including M5, M9, M20, M22, and M55. These routes connect Lower Manhattan with neighborhoods throughout Manhattan and provide convenient access for visitors traveling above ground.
We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes before your scheduled entry time to allow for check-in.

Mercer Labs is located at 21 Dey Street, New York, NY 10007, in Lower Manhattan, just steps from major subway lines.
Mercer Labs' last entry is typically 1 hour and 15 minutes before our advertised closing time to allow the last guest to enjoy all 15 experimental spaces at their leisure.
You can expect a fully immersive experience featuring large-scale installations, interactive environments, light, sound, and digital art. Each experimental space offers a different moment to explore at your own pace.
Mercer Labs is New York's Museum of Art and Technology featuring immersive, multi-sensory installations that explore the intersection of art, culture, and innovation. Guests move through a series of 15 experiential spaces designed to surprise, engage, and inspire.
Yes. Exhibits evolve throughout the year, with rotating installations, special programming, and limited-time experiences.
Mercer Labs welcomes guests of all ages. Some installations may be more engaging for teens and adults, and children should be supervised at all times.
The experience is self-guided, allowing guests to explore each space freely. On-site staff are available throughout the museum to assist, answer questions, and ensure a smooth visit.
Most guests spend approximately 60–90 minutes exploring the museum. You are welcome to move through the space at your own pace.
Yes. Mercer Labs features a retail area with exclusive merchandise and souvenirs.
Yes, strollers are welcome at Mercer Labs. Elevators are available on every floor, making it easy to move between levels with strollers.
Outside food and drinks are not permitted inside Mercer Labs. Guests are welcome to bring water in sealed bottles or reusable tumblers with caps.
For your safety and the safety of others, all guests must sit down before sliding into the ball pit. The slide is steep and the ball pit is shallow, so standing or jumping can cause serious injury and are strictly prohibited. Guests who do not follow these rules may be asked to leave the play area. These precautions ensure that everyone can enjoy the ball pit safely.
Guests of all ages are welcome. There is no minimum age requirement, but content and environments may be more suitable for older children and adults. Children ages 3 and under enter free. Guests 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult over 18.
For the safety and comfort of all visitors, outside food and beverages are not permitted. Weapons of any kind are also prohibited, including glass bottles, flammable substances, and knives of any type (pen knives, switchblades, Swiss Army knives, etc.). All guests are required to pass a standard security screening to enter.
Currently, Mercer Labs does not offer coat check or storage services. We recommend arriving with minimal personal belongings.
Yes, restrooms are available on the first floor.
Group reservations are refundable up to 7 days before the scheduled visit. Within 7 days, we offer a one-time courtesy reschedule. Partial refunds or reductions in guest count are not available after final payment.
Guided tours are not available at this time. However, the experience is fully self-guided and staff are stationed throughout to support guests as needed.
Absolutely. Mercer Labs can be reserved for private events including corporate outings, brand activations, and celebrations. To inquire, visit our Group Bookings page and complete the event inquiry form.
We recommend booking 2–4 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date and time. We will do our best to accommodate shorter notice when possible.
Yes. Discounted group rates are available for parties of 10 or more. To inquire, please submit a request on our Group Bookings page.
Mercer Labs welcomes trained service animals that assist with a disability, as defined by the ADA. Emotional support animals are not permitted.
Yes. Mercer Labs is ADA accessible, and our exhibition spaces are designed to accommodate mobility devices. If you have specific accessibility needs, we encourage you to contact us before your visit.
Yes, exhibits feature low lighting, flashing lights, 4D sound, fog, mirrored surfaces, and optional physical experiences. Visitors with epilepsy, sensory processing disorders, claustrophobia, vertigo, or mobility or physical limitations should proceed with caution. Children and youth should be under adult supervision. Please alert staff immediately if you need assistance.
